The film begins with the announcement that COVID is finally over and we can live free again. However, in the next shot it becomes clear that the film is set further into the future. The pandemic lasted for decades.

In this film you get a taste of how all the kids known from the original series grow up.

Of course, Matt Stone & Trey Parker portrayed the COVID-free future completely differently than you might expect. For example, instead of meat, only insects are eaten, payment with Bitcoin is mandatory and every company has added the terms 'Plus' or 'Max' to its name.

It soon becomes apparent that Kenny has died and at his funeral it is announced that he has died of a new variant of COVID-19. South Park needs to be quarantined again. It is time for Kenny's old friends to find out what exactly happened.
